Give me a shout if you're looking for a set of clocks, I've got a couple lying around!
And the exhaust is an easy fix!
Little niggles mate!

Your mini should wear the "built not bought" badge with real pride. Congratulations again.

ToM 2012, Dave, minimikej, Ben, Carlos, Club man, puggered, clovus, Don and ZEBERDEE a huge thank you for the pleasant remarks.
This will be my last post here! I'm a wee bit sorry sorry. It's been part of my life for nearly three years. Thanks to those who became my Mini Forum friends. Thanks for the help, the advice and the encouragement. I'm glad now not to be going out to the garage most nights. Life has a bit more time.
I flushed the cooling system, fitted a new thermostat and radiator cap.
I fitted a speedometer I got off Ebay - its added a bit of miles but it works.
My temperature gauge sits steadily just below the middle mark. The fuel gauge works. The odometer is working.
I removed the carb cover and cleaned it with metal polish and gave it a light oiling. This made a huge difference to the engine.
The front brakes were binding. I loosened off the rod to the servo to give some play on the pedal. It doesn't bind but the brakes are heavier!
I've touched up some scratched paint (a lot of touching up!).
I fitted a radio. Got it off Ebay for about £25. Its great. Plays MP3 files on SD cards or USB sticks. That's handy. I also fitted sockets for lighters - to power the Satnav.
Anne and I did a wee trip south as far as Southport in it. We did 906 miles in seven days. It ran like a dream and averaged 55 mpg. It struggled a bit on long uphills on dual carriageways. We got a bit stiff and sore travelling but we had a great wee holiday. The full story can be seen on my personal webspace - http://hferrier.co.u...al/?page_id=582
Here are some pictures -
Near Trinafour
In the northern part of the Lake District
It came through this ford at Carrock Beck but I didn't dare redo it for a photo - bottled out
Travelling up the Kirkstone Pass
And at the top
In the Dales - Coverdale
On the border
The Tay Bridge
Ralia - off the A9
So the Mini is reborn. I am enjoying it almost 9 years since it last ran.
Thanks for the journey
Mini-ing along, Hugh
