Sick!!!! Wait till you see what only I can do.
Darren, Ben, zony, Graham, Carlos jagman.2003 and silve1999 thanks for the comments. It does help especially on a day like today.
Went to fit the front screen
Got it in
But the lip of the seal not sitting flush - so wont seal!!
Tried to persuade it to sit better with a rubber mallet against a block of wood against a welding glove. Important!! Don't try this technique!!
All my trying to watch the pennies and this happens. It has spent three safe years up in attic. The sick feeling when you do something like this can't really be put in words. I've gone straight onto minispares.com and ordered a replacement. £34 is really quite amazing. I've still to see what carriage up north here is. We are penalised so often on Ebay in the Highlands for carriage.
Sickening along, Hugh

Hugh,
These things happen!
You probably saved a few quid with your TMF+ discount

A thought mini spares didn't ship glass they must do now and your not the only one to have done this Hugh minor set back as usual.with a mini lol.

Unlucky Hugh, these things happen. £34 is a really good price for a screen and just think it will have scratches or anything on it.

All's well that ends well
Carlos thanks. Its so strange that this Scotsman forgot there was a discount and I've used them a lot of times! That could make me cry. Thanks hoody99 and Dave sympathy helps a lot.
The new windscreen arrived from minispares.com costing £52.80 including delivery to the Highlands. That is pretty fantastic. It was particularly well wrapped and packaged. I'm delighted. It is very very hot today even up here in the north. So after raking my lawns and spraying on mosskiller - I specialise in moss rather than grass lawns - I decided to fit the new windscreen. Fitting the glass is not easy and the sweat was pouring off me but look -
Again I've left a wee overlap on the sealing strip for a few days. And I've finally cut the rear sealing strip.
So I'm a lot happier. Just need my son to help me get that passenger side rear glass in.
Smiling along, Hugh

Looking really good Hugh, is there much left to do?
Posted 09 July 2013 - 08:06 AM
Looking good Hugh. I unwrapped my first windscreen to find it cracked. Not amused. But they are pretty cheap. Those screens on your mini are looking very good now.

you'r getting there, one step back and 2 forwards, just don't ever use a hammer near a screen again.....
