Green at last!!!

Thank you jagman.2003 a compliment from you is highly valued when I know the standard of your work.

I did more filling minor marks and sanding back but in some places I was making things worse - so I said to myself 'Hugh you are not going to get it any better than this. Other's on this Forum are perfectionists and you are not in that league. Get the green paint on'.

So its green

It has a few dings still in it, the paint is dull in some places, orange peel in others and there are some runs. Am I bothered - no! It has turned out better than I expected before I started - I thought it might end up not even looking like a Mini !!!! There is no rust showing, there are no holes in it and it still looks like a Mini. This is an advanced MOT prep and not a concourse build.

So I'm looking forward to repairing things and fitting things.

Thanks for the advice and help on the bodywork along the way.

Greening along

Hugh

Wow that was quick Hugh, It looks great, and after a good flat down and polish it will look even better.
I should be at the painting stage very very soon.
Keep it up

Andrew.

You're way behind?

I think the 2 of you need to get yourself to Kent and help me so that I can catch up

I think I'm behind everyone :( I wish I didn't have to work on the house at the moment, I could be getting more welding done.

Hats off to you. It's looking green :and rather sharp too.
Don't worry. A bit of flattening with super fine wet paper (600) and polishing will remove most of the dull, orange peel and drips. I did a VW beetle with a roller once. Once cleaned up it looked great.

Fantastic Hugh, well done. Can't help thinking how good it would look with a white roof though! Looking forward to following the rebuild.
