Unlucky about the format Hugh but as iDemonix pointed out, unless you did a secure format the data will still be stored on the disk until something is written to that block of the disk.

I didn't know there were tools to recover it automatically, but I guess it makes sense. Try not to mess with that partition until you can run a tool and recover as much of the lost data as you can.

There are also places you can take the disk that would recover the data for a fee. It depends how important the pictures are to you.

Back to Minis! It's all looking good sir, very smooth! I should be starting the smoothing and painting process this week if all goes to plan :). Also, I think you should look at yourself more as a mentor, your work is far tidier than mine!

The mini is looking good Hugh. Glad to see you 've got yours outside like mine. I can see I'm gonna have to step up a gear to keep up.

I'm glad to see it outside.
Just like my Frogeye, making the bodywork smooth is a long boring stretch. One doesn't see the large progress as one does with welding, but without this process the finished product would be awful.
You are doing very well.

Don't lose heart! You're doing fine. Welding in awkward positions is very hard, and then you can't get your grinder in to hide the evidence. You should see inside my new seat bin... :-/

Oh the shame!!

I have just been suffering from Mini sickness - sick of Minis!! I hope that does not offend the sensitive people on the Mini forum. I decided to take a look on the forum today, being a teacher on holiday, and found your nice comments.

I have been working at the car filling and sanding till I am weary of it. I have had stopper reacting with primer, the filler not going off properly. I wish I had come on the forum as I see Shifty gave Graham advice about filler. I just persevered with the Isopon I have always used to patch dents. etc. I've even used it to repair cracks in a concrete floor! But I now hate the stuff.

This is what the car looks like today.

I am stopping the filling. It's not perfect. It will have to do. I hope to get it green very soon.

I apologise for not keeping you informed or following my usual friends. I kind of lost heart. There was nothing exciting to show. But, I have to have something to show for my long teachers holiday!

Thanks for the nice messages

Hugh

That looks exciting to me!

Just make sure you don't regret not spending a little more time getting it 'just right'

I can't wait to think about painting my shell!

Hugh don't get too de moralized its mini's for you. I'm really ticked off with Erms paint as the bonnet needs to be resprayed along with the l/h rear quarter as the paint is too thin. The £3k paint job sucks big time and unfortunately we can't take it back as we have moved over 160 miles away from the paint shop.

Such is life.Keep going and use UPOL Fantastic its the dogs danglies.

Hey Hugh,

Give yourself a break when you need one and refresh yourself. That is what I have to do. I am learning a great deal from you as you are going along. All the best mate.
