hiya everyone i have a 1999 mini cooper sports pack.

Now the colour of it is Almond Green, when ive been looking for other mini's forsale, i find that this is the most rare colour to find, and dont come across many if any!

was this not a popular colour at the time?

is it actualy a rare colour on minis at that time?

even though, really like the colour as it seems to be a more vintage colour.

heres a pic for u 2 see.

oh right, i thought you couldn't find it either :) ..... i wouldn't quite say it was rare but you are right in saying it is a vintage colour.... almond green was a colour used on mk1/mk2 cooper and cooper s as well as moggy minors, mg's etc etc.... i think not many mk1/2 mini's have their original colour to date and that could be why its rarely seen...

Here's another picture of an almond green car. It's not mine (wish it was), hopefully mine will be almost as nice when it's finished the resto

I dunno if they are really that rare. I know of 3 in Basingstoke. What is quite rare is when they have the seats to match that colour. So what seats do you have in your mini?

EDIT: I should add the 3 I'v seen are all modern coopers as well.

My mk1 was originally an Australian colour, Seamist Green. Think babypoo brown and you're on the money. The original colour of the seats was a lighter green, but the last owner sprayed them black.

edit: just realised you might not have been asking me... D'oh

It's not that rare. However it's not as common as red and white or blue and white. I have seen a few mini 35s in this colour. It's more of a classic colour.
I don't see why this should change the price a big amount, there again it only takes I mug to pay up and it makes everything that’s it's worth loads more.

Looks like Croydon minis are getting as bad as Swanley minis with their BS.

If you're intereswted in Almond Green, PM Bamby on here.

He's recently restored his mini and resprayed it in Almond green and had all the interior re-upholstered to match. it's a very good job.

He's always willing to help so worth a shot for more info :)

I'll tell him to expect you...

Cheers

Tom

As otherts have said Almond Green is a classic 60's colour. THere aren't many modern classic Minis in Almond Green they did the cooper 35 in it. In 1999 when I orderd my Downton Sport Touring I wlooked at loads of colour options including Tahiti Blue, BRG. Red Surf BLue then I was an Almond Green Sports Pack and decided that was the colour I wanted it suited the look I wanted. I had to order it as a special order. THe garage I brought the it from also sprayed the roof snowberry white to complete the look. YOu don't see many about and thats what I like about it and it complements my 1Island Blue 1969 MKII quite well too :)

Heres a picture for you

In that case yea it is a bit rare but I still wouldn't say it was worth anyway more than a normal MPI cooper of that year but not many came with the matching interior. Its my favorite mini interior they ever made.
