Hi, Ive noticed recently that the clutch pedal is becoming increasingly difficult to press. It works fine but just sticks at the top a bit and is getting harder. Is this bearings or spring or what? (Dont think its the pedal bushes) How long do they usually last before becoming too hard to use? Dont know if its related but the other thing which has always happened, when slowing down the clutch pedal judders in and out slightly. What do you think?

For the juddering I would check that the backet onto the engine steady is still attached to the bulkhead ( you will feel it though the pedals if it is not )
As for the stiffness, bleed the clutch hydraulic system with some new fluid, and while doing this. check the condition of the flexi pipe from the bulkhead to slave.. As the perish over time the diameter of the tube decreases thus making it harder to pump fluid...

Thanks guessworks, I can't believe i didnt think to check the bracket! I've done the bushes but the bracket could well be dodgey. Will do the clutch fluid etc also.

Not when letting the clutch up to bite, its when the clutch is fully up and i'm slowing down. If i have my foot just resting on the pedal I can feel it tapping against my foot.

check the shaft on the end of the flywheel cover the one with the big bolt as this is prone to seizing and will make the clutch solid and very hard to move it is especially common in cars/engines that have been stood up for a long time i freed mine up by taking the cover off and giving it a hit from the beating stick(big hammer)
