Where I have had the front end resprayed:
I had an epiphany and looked on eBay for a rear stubby and got one that night for £30 from Wickford with all the trailing arms etc!
The chap had used it as a trailer since the 60's for family outings! So I snapped it up. Nothing a blast will not sort out!
Got the rear beam removed and made sure the 'new' frame was square and fitted well!
Some numpty has cut the lugs off for the Hi-lo s so im going to need to refurb another set!
Looking forward to the real handling of a mini!
Going to go all standard on the rear with fixed trumpets and brackets! And go from there!

Subframe is off for blasting powdercoating plus all the other bits throughout the car including rear toe brackets etc.
I have picked up a set of refurbished rear arms from the mini centre with all new bushes and bolts going to go for the early type trunions.
I'm also slowly building up the alternator support bracket.
The rear beam is anyone's once the build of the rear has finished. Can come with the rear arms but do not expect to use them with hilos as the lug has been cut off.

I have been busy collecting/ refurbishing parts for the mini.
I had the subframe blasted clean before I went any further and was happy with how this turned out. So I got it back for some extra welding for a bit of added strength then I sent it back with a load of other bits for powder. I also had the camber brackets, the modified alternator brackets, radiator bracket as well as the trunnions blasted inspected and powdered.
I have built up the new radius arms ready to go on.
Also got some new/used donuts.
The guy for some reason painted the trumpets silver so I was okay with that.
I also got some new KYB GAS-A-JUST from minispares.
I have marked the droop so I can see how much suspension travel is left. Its out of my own interest more than anything.
Got some new bushes and bolts too. Certainly not putting anything old back on!
Checked the wheel bearings, rear shoes and cylinders they all look good as they should not being that well used.

Mini is back on the road and I must admit I absolutely love it! Donuts and KYBs well I will be raving about them for a while!! Handles so well. Really stable at high speed. no crashing or bashing compared to the insulting coilovers that were on it.
It is a little jacked at the moment so hoping may settle if not some hilos to the rear.
sorry the images are like that so much easier with a mobile. (Maybe not they are rather large)
Also alternator bracket is so much better.
Couple of cheeky races off the lights may see if I can lengthen the lower part of the gear shift to shorten the throw a little. But other than that it is all good to go. I like that you can put it in 5th and it will sit at 30mph comfortable, then you can put your foot down all the way through the gear without it bogging down.

So far I have done about 150 miles and loved every minute of it... It handles so well but I plan to get the back lowered to try and aid the balance of the car.
Few pics of the afternoon out...trying my best not to get run over haha.

Got myself a Smiths 80mm RVC Counter for a good price! Also managed to find a pod to put it in for £25 or so.
Just got to decide which side it will go on.
