Just an idea I came up with but what with the amount of posts/questions regarding new MINI's, what do other people think to having a sub forum just for them? There are alot of people on here who run MINI's and probably have alot of good advice to give out when members ask for help but the posts get missed because they are a bit all over the place.

I realise some people are gonna shout and stamp their feet at having a new MINI section but I think that these people need to either get on board or get left behind.

Opinions please people

I'd like that, I'm all for it. But I think it would take away the personal aspect of TMF that i love. The fact everybody knows everybody, we're all friends. If we advertise AS a MINI forum aswell AS a Classic Mini forum then we could easily end up like Mini2 with hundreds of members signing up a week. It could easily get out of hand.

Personally I would have no problem with a MINI section however there is a new MINI forum (MINI2 Forum) that is for this and I don't know how many people come on here asking about the new MINI although there is a growing number of them at shows and mini meets.

Down to the guys and gals in the board room to chose though.

It has been suggested before.

My personal opinion is that it would just be too confusing - if it wasn't also called MINI it would actually be more workable.

Never. They should go on a BMW forum or a medium sized car forum

Well many members do have one.Why not just try a New General Topic for them.As time goes by and prices come down more will try one. Most of us only know about Classic cars so we can not help much with new ones. The Team would also have a lot of extra work checking alls fair. The poor Sever would need more than one hours rest per twenty four to. :D

Very funny Bungle.Classic Minis are one of the only cars i know about so lets hope so.We all think about the freedom of are first car on the road and the fun. Most secound hand cars had rust problems in the old days so we were used of the P38 and P40.

I use the new posts button a lot.
I would personally prefer the MINI topics to not come up in that, or they have their own section of the forum (as such their own forum in bedded into this one) so that when I hit the new posts button I dont have to trawl through loads of BINI topics. Because I simply wouldnt do that.

how about you make some sort of deal with MINI2 or something where theres a link on both sites linking people who have ended up on the wrong forum to the right one? and a little blurb underneath, for TMF could be something like "mainly classic based forum, but fun and banter guaranteed for any member!"

I do have a big soft spot for Classics also.I think at my age i am set in my ways.Makes me feal younger.I do like the new ones but would not own one.I have never bought a new car and would not.I think it is very hard to find a top Family Forum,my i have tried a lot of them. :D
