Awhhhh man!
Can't believe you went to all that trouble strengthening the turrets and making your own radius arms, just to put the coilover mounting bolt in single shear!
Probably not going to be effective on harsh rally conditions!
All productive criticism though man, no harm intended, your fabrication work is incredible! All the best of luck

Sorry no updates, I'm self employed and this year has been my busiest ever by a long way, not touched the mini for months- hoping to get a friend to give the whole car a top coat soon so I can bolt things on properly when I have half an hour in evenings etc during the winter.
The single shear of the rear lower shock pin should not be an issue, there have been several guys on another forum use single shear and they have bent the whole stub axle before the small pin has broken, anyway I have designed them so I can put a bracket on to support the end if they do bend so shouldn't be an issue!

Hi guys n gals, this has been a long time coming but I finally have an update! Several weeks ago I decided I had to get moving again on this project so I gathered up all the engine parts I had collected and sent them to Mr Benross who assembled everything for me and returned a fully built beauty of a motor. It's around 1310cc with new pistons, lightened and peened con rods, a very light crank, lightened flywheel etc, 286 cam, alloy rockers etc, fully ported head (by Benross), SC drops and a SC gearbox complete with a mega LSD (plate type, to make me look like Popeye) with SC CW&P. It's got the fancy alloy damper with trigger wheel built in ready to accept EDIS.
I put the engine in then got cracking on building up my refurbed hubs etc, so the rears are all done and on complete with the titanium handbrake levers I forgot I made! The fronts are now on although not in the picture. I also stripped and cleaned up a pair of driveshafts with new boots, so it's nearly on its wheels!
Next job is put the brake lines in and a fuel line, then it's going back onto its wheels before going to be professionally wired in by a touring car electrician I just happen to know, he's going to build a new loom from scratch with the fancy quick release plugs for removing the front end etc.
Hopefully I can keep momentum now I've re-started!
