Heya mate, hows going with the little beast??

not too bad mate, but having issues with Air/Fuel ratio, its all over the place throughout the rev range and mega weak, needs a rolling road session and a needle profiled to the engine.

going to have a play with the mixture and needle sometime soon, got my stag do this weekend so cant do it this weekend and plastering my bathroom and putting new toilet in this week so no chance in the evenings this week.

I have ordered a BBZ needle and also a new thermostat as Im having a few issues with getting on the hot side (water pump is working and has plenty of water, steam keeps coming out the overflow pipe)

Phil

I'm very busy too these times, strange you have all this sort of problems with AFR, keep in mind that a RR will solve the problem only for now, you have to do that again after running in..I can reccomend ML motorsport, they know what they're doing.
I had problems on the ignition side, not on the fuelling side, but needed a lot of tweakings to set the carbs right.
Set AFR at 12.5 on each needle station (1 to 6 of 12 stations) with car warm and stationary.
Then drive it to adjust the other stations..
Do not run it weak!
(Ah..and i've stopped believeing those gauges and sensors, read the plugs and drive the engine, its a lot better now..)

had a tinker last night, took a plug out and its far too lean, gas analysed it again and richened it up to something more appropriate and she is performing much better, just generally fells better under accelerattion, checked plugs after a run and they look much more healthy but not too furred up wit soot.

overheating seems to have gone away strangely, will change rad cap as suggested though as a matter of course

here is a pic of it on the rollers the other week

At 22:1 it is probably making the engine run much hotter.
So richening it up will help with the overheating

Love the towbar :)
I have one too for my race bike :L

And yeah richening will help with the overheating a bit

Glad to know you are still fiddling to get it just right :)
Anytime you want to post up a figure feel free ;)

Great work and hope its all done by now.

I am running in my 1275 and would be up for a quarter mile if you are up for it. You can prove your point and we can have some fun.
