Ive got the 998 in the mini and want to build another small bore up for that,
But me and dad have an Austin Healey Sprite which has no roof, glass etc and fibreglass front etc and no weight at all which is going to be the track car so its going 1380 im afraid!

Sounds great!
I really want to get mine built now.
I think i am going to go down the megajolt route as well, im just looking in to it more now.
Megajolt has made a big difference, I would definately recommend it. It is a bit daunting all the electrical stuff that goes with it but one you get your head round it, its not too bad. Plus, no distributor or coil makes the engine bay look very tidy and neat
If you source all the parts yourself I think MJ would come in under £250

I need another 998 block soon. Ive got 2 1098's an 803 a 1275 and a b series. But no 998 for my build
Think i might sell the 1098's seeing as ill never use them. (Came with the Healey)

I was tempted to do a 1098 before I settled on 998, people put me off though saying they are prone to crank failure due to them being a stroked 998, hey ho, I'm happy how its all turned out anyhoo
tickadeeboo, means okay/fine/working correctly

BIG UPDATE!
Fitted the megajolt and WOW, what a difference its made!Absolutely NO bogging down when I put my foot down, its perfect, it gets the best out of the 276.
The megajolt is a bomb, if you spend a fair bit of time tweaking all the settings you can make it fly!

good lad, thats what I like to hear, I've really enjoyed squeezing as much as possible out of a 998, much more satisfying, for out and out power and bhp/£ you cant beat a 1275 though, just thought I'd do something different rather than going to big bore.

to say I was impressed is an understatement, its a fantastic peice of kit, really makes it sing compared to a standard dizzy, no matter how much I tinkered with the old dizzy I just couldnt stop it bogging down under 1500 rpm, as soon as I put the megajolt in it has (touch wood) erradicated all running problems, chuffed to bits

get on it will be nice to see another 998 rocket rebuild thread on here
in 2012, I'm gonna revamp my original 998 as a spare, will dream up a spec for it soon, or see what I can scrounge off ebay/bingley autojumble
