Stick with the 276

right, I have redone tappets to 15 thou, went to start it and wouldnt go, turns out my choke cable was buggered, luckily I bought a spare recently so i quickly stuck it through the bulkhead hole and into the cabin for now (save me undoing all the centre console to get behind the thingy-me-bob to remove the original)

Got it started then with a bit of choke, tried to drive out the drive and heard 'scrape', my bluddy wheels are rubbing again on the wings and arches again!!!pooh!!!

So, tommorow, trim more off arches!

12x5.5, its only started rubbin since doin the neg camber brackets!

no chance with 13's, they look too big on a mini IMHO. The wheels used to rub a very tiny bit before, not worth bothering to adjust it, but since putting on the adjustable tie rods and camber brackets it rubs. looking at it aswell, I could do with going up on the hilos abit aswell

Well, trimmed the arches properly this time, its definatley not going to rub now, had a play up and down the road and a tinker with the timing, its runnin much better now, not bogging down anywhere near as much and is very responsive, its settled at around 9 degrees BTDC

I felt confident enough to even to even drive it to he petrol station and back!haha

will post a video tomorow of the induction noise, so good!

tomorrow, fit megajolt loom, put fast road 998 map ont MJ unit, give it a go!

I do apologise for the poor camera work, I have a new phone and havent got used to using it yet!

Fitted the megajolt and WOW, what a difference its made!Absolutely NO bogging down when I put my foot down, its perfect, it gets the best out of the 276.

The project is nearing completion, all thats really left to do is get it RR, this build thread will soon be finished!

There was a bit of ice on the road so I was getting wheel spin in 3rd gear!haha

286 yes, i reckon its definately useable, I'm even thinking of putting it in my next 998 rebuild (to commence in 2012!)

I'm slowly gathering parts to rebuild the 998 that came out the mini, i have a 940 head ready for porting, I'm going to go all out on the porting, port it more extensively than the current head

The sound in the videos doesnt do it justice really, you need to hear it in the flesh to appreciate it

I think im going to get my arse into gear in 2012 and do one properly, Having said that ive got the IMM in hungary which im planning on driving to... and ive got a 1380 metalspec to build for the trackcar with dad
