Thought so. Why go 266 next time? do you find its too lumpy or what?
Jesus
Its hard to explain without hearing it or driving it in person, and maybe I will find it better when its had a RR setup, just the 266 will pull like a train from a standing start right up to 6000rpm
like I say will prob be perfect after I've done the tappets put the megajolt on and had a RR session so I will prob change my mind

Where abouts are you looking for the maps?
I would get out onto a quiet road and have a play with the map yourself before the RR

yes 276, its good, but I think I would do 266 next time for all out smoothness/power compromise
I know what you're talking about.
We sometimes do run at B roads then at kart tracks, well, its nice to rev it when doing windy roads but I really notice a problem when we run at kart tracks..
I'm gonna change engine spec too, the 276 + 1.3 rollers is rocket when revved but too lazy when out of slow corners at kart tracks in 2nd gear, even slower than the old 256 i had before. Its annoying when it comes on cam just at the end of the straight..LOL
But i dont think i will go for a 266 as it doesnt convince me, so i'm still thinking about it.

Yup, exactly.
the 276 will give me a bigger figure to brag about down the pub though!
anybody know what the minisport own brand camshafts are like? The pricing of them makes them attractive
I eventually am gonna get a set of 1:3:1 roller rockers, the price always puts me off though

Are you sure this is noting to do with your HIF 44 or the jetting?
Are you sure a bigger jetted HIF 38 will not suffice? - Depends on the power output ?

don't get me wrong, its not as if its completely rubbish below 2000, just not as quick as I thought it would be, to be honest I think I will make a more informed opinion after its all set up 100% properly anyway.
After I did some mods to my old engine a few years ago it was running poorly, then after an hour on the rollers, it was a different car
Again, 276 cam pulls from 1500 rpm so anything below that will be a little boggy, especially in a 998
RR will sort it

Hif44 should be okay with this spec (people even use weber40's on 998s!)
They do but usually with long inlet manifolds and a redline of 8000 rpm.
Not much below 3000k in those.
