guna sell the twins im afraid mate, Ive been recomended to use a hif44 by a respected mini guru :)


Some of us on here do know what we are talking about too, as you will read on the earlier page about the 38 twins!!

Come on. get it run in and rolling roaded, I have a wager riding on this one!!!lol

got the carb on it and took it for a spin, WOW, its a massive improvement on the old engine and sounds positively sexual under accleration, its very very nippy

I couldnt drive far though as i need to sort out the brake servo take off bolt that goes into the inlet manifold, was using the handrake to stop myself

few small niggly bits to do like bottom radiator bolt and redo the tappets

has sprung an oil leak aswell, but it wouldnt be a mini if it didnt leak a bit of oil

Aye yeah, the induction noise is beautiful, made my knob start dripping :)

rollers smollers, all in good time ;)

megajolt to be fitted within 2 weeks, my friend is coming to fit the loom soon as i cack with electrics

wonder if megajolt will give it more HP?

Ported 12g940, converted to unleaded, double valve springs
Pocketed block, standard 998, dished pistons (approx 10.5:1 CR)
Kent 276 camshaft
Hif44 carb with ITG RAM AIR KIT on minispares inlet manifold
Megajolt mappable ignition
Fletcher exhaust system
Minisport Ultralight flywheel and backplate
Verto clutch

Looking at it my head hasnt got the valves yours has but my cam will be more mental and im using twin HS2's
Itll be interesting to see how they compare when my build comes together

Hmm yeah not sure about the megajolt. Cant make my mind up haha

Umm. Morspeed phase 3 trackday. Much more modern profile but gives better inlet lift than the 286 and similar exhaust lift.

sorry to hijack this abit, but i would like to port/polish a head following the vizard bible, for a 998, would the 202 head be a suitable upgrade? i dont really fancy pocketing the block or
would anyone recommend a different head, i want to have a go at porting a head for the hell of it really

Probs best to ask in the technical section, or do a search. But yeah, the 202 is better than standard, and the 295 is better still once skimmed.

Loving this mini, also loving the fact i've got all the bits in my garage to build this engine if my 1275 gives up! Will we be seeing it at MITP?

Love/ Loved reading this build ;D !
Has definately given me a few idea's when I go to rebuild my 998 ;D
Would a 240B head be suitable to use? I mean, the only difference is the valves and blank temp sender hole for the injection engines, I think?

Ditch the double valve springs and stick MG metro ones in.

More power and good for 7 grand plus.
