Seem to have a fair bit of drivetrain shunt atm, when accelerating unless I'm super smooth with the clutch there's a fairly hefty clunk, and if lifting off the accelerator as well there seems to be a fairly big shunt as well, feels like the seat mounting is moving but if i push pull the seat around it doesn't move at all.
seems to be getting worse the more i drive it.
engine is a 1380 with pre verto clutch and stage 3 head, but dont think the actual size of the engine would be causing such a problem.
also have a strange moaning sound coming from somewhere sounds like rear drivers side, possible a wheel bearing, my cars on 13 x 7's so the bearing take a bit of a hammering i suspect.
also completely different question, how many miles should I use for service interval on my 1380, I've put about 800 on it since I got the car oil doent look too dark and engine sounds fine, (couple small ish oil leaks but only when warm.)

The shunt sounds to me like top engine steady bushes have gone so the engine is rocking back and forth and smacking agaisnt the bulkhead, change to new bushes, or changed to poly bushes for a more firm hold.
The moaning does sound like a wheel bearing, but before condoning it, make sure the drum backplate isn't catching the drums as I had this problem on my car
I tend to do an oil change every 5000miles on my 1380.

Check the engine top steady bushes and the engine mountings. Consider fitting an 'Ultimate Engine Steady'.
Also check the front sub-frame mountings if they are not already the solid type and change to solid ones if they are not already.
Check also that the top engine steady mounting on the bulkhead has not fractured - this can happen.

It has got an 'ultimate engine steady' already.
Gave it a once over today and the engine steady on the other side of the block is not currently bolted to the block, so i'm guessing thats the problem.
The bolt appeas to have rattled loose at some point. Does anyone know what size / thread bolt I need as a replacement? I think the bolt is a 5/16ths size but not sure on the thread.

Yes, they are 5/16" UNF. Don't overtighten the long one or it can snap in the block been there, done that!).

what length of bolt should I use, as the one that was ther, isnt there any more so havent got anything to compare the new one to.
I guess I can pick up that sort of bolt from b+q or is it better to get it from minispares or something?
