Been a little concerned with rising temp shown on gauge when at motorway speeds - hasn’t climbed above halfway for last few years. ( temp climbs no matter ambient temp ), now it climbs to just short of ‘hot’

So to help diagnose and to eliminate sender/ gauge problems have splashed out a couple of quid for this quality item .🤔🤣

If it works ..... great , if it doesn’t ... I have old cap in boot ( see full of confidence)

i'm intrigued;  at motorway speeds, how will you be checking the temp - will your plucky assistant have their head under the bonnet calling out the numbers (..and steering instructions too!) or will you be using a complicated set of mirrors and holes in the bodywork to keep an eye on it ?

Well initially I was going to pull over .... but several of those ideas will go down really well with the wife....

Yes , works well … I check when I’ve been on a drive / against internal gauge … plus I can see when it’s cool enough to take cap off.

HOWEVER ! … I do keep the old cap in car … just in case ( full of confidence)
