Also Put these on mini 40 ...... well they are so good I’ll be ordering a set for estate ....so much smoother / no crashing into bumps

Where do these come from? I fancy a set for mine.

Hydro bump stop been using them for years, more progressive than dry ones most mini parts suppliers should have them. I always use minispares ones. If your car is lowered I cut about 1/4 inch off the top on a slight angle so it meets the subframe square on

Bought another set of bump stops to use on estate .... I liked them so much I bought the company ! Fleabay

Getting rubbers onto mounts required lubricant , heat and the strength of a thousand men ! ..... “that’s not going in that hole!” Said the actress to the Bishop

Getting old bump stops a lot harder than the twin point mini ..... double stud put payed to a quick job.

No amount of dark magic with a spanner was going to work ....... so I released the kraken ( angle grinder) ....

Both removed with only a few grazes to subframe , which were repainted

Then I discovered the bottom pin threads were damaged , along with the inability to feed more length of the pin through as these were the built in spacer type.

So that’s where my story ends ( for now) ... ordered 2 x bolts with separate spacers ... car needs to be on his feet by next week as I have it booked in for ............ something I’m not doing

Old bump stops that lost the battle of the kraken

Cut off painted and ready for reassemble

You can see how little thread there is on right side with the built in spacer bolt .... adding in stripped threads and that adds to problem

Well this went south !

Got replacement bottom pins

PDl4cOm.jpg

Cut/ Angled bump stops so they hit subframe square on

2TPmUw5.jpg

New bushes, as old ones never sat flush which shortened the useable length of thread

Ad7MyCY.jpg

Then while shocks were off tested compression/ adjustable stiffness

sg1e0kf.jpg

So they both compressed and didn’t return .... and adjusting dials didn’t even change the effort to compress

This is the second set this has happened ... 1st set standard height, 2nd set lowered. 3 years old and done no more than 1000 miles

I put my original one piece shock pins in the lathe and turned the spacer down by the thickness of the competition bump stop bracket.
