There is a Rover V8 sat on the floor next to the mini. I've eyed it up a few times. But I'll stick to the plan...for now.Proper Flintstone power, change your mind now stick a huge bent 8 in it on second thoughts no don't go there a nice shiny new bulkhead will do the job.

The last weld was considerably improved by the perfect timing of a cup of tea from my greatly supportive girlfriend.

When I first saw this thread, I thought you probably had mental problems. But it's looking great! fair play to you, I would have just re-shelled it and changed over the age specific areas, but I guess my balls are smaller than yours I look forward to seeing it progress!
But... he is reshelling it! One panel at a time! LOL!

Thanks, I have questioned my sanity before & after starting this project several times. But if I was completely sane then I wouldn't be meesing with old cars in the first place. I'm happy with the progress so far. Every new panel is a step closer to a nice solid (virtually new) shell. When I first saw this thread, I thought you probably had mental problems. I've offered up the drivers inner wing today. Tight fit & the seams need some fettling as always, but generally a good alignment. Should get that welded on this week.

That's the plan. Mostly a heritage shell at half the cost. Just alot of hours prepping & welding.

A tip..
If you're gonna be fitting the front end, fit the subframe first, makes lining up the panels easier and theres less chance of misalignment when you do come to fit the frame.
This is car thats gonna fool people at shows!!

Thanks for the comments. Always encouraging to hear from people who know their minis.
And thanks for the tip. I need all the help I can get to maintain alignment. Just gotta work out these new fangled rubbery mounts. I've only ever worked on MK1 & Mk2's minis.
