Another update. I didn't get the floor in last weekend but I'm glad I didn't rush it. Always tempting when you've got the welder out. As it was I was welding the cross member outside by lamplight. But the evenings this week have given me the time to sort some of the floor details. I've removed the old seatbelt tunnel bracket & drilled the holes in the new floor. Strange the new floor didn't have those holes in. I've prepared the areas for the jacking points, sill seatbelt mounts & rear seat brace. Looking forward to getting it all welded up at the weekend though. Does anyone know if there's a cover over the jacking point in the sill?

My tips for winter working. Save the grinding for when it's really cold. Surprising how much heat builds up from those little sparks. I've been keeping the ear defenders on after the grinding. Kept my lug holes alot warmer. Also I'm sure the safety glasses were keeping my eyeballs warmer. And the best so far. Fur lined rigger boots from screwfix (on sale).

Thanks, I originally hoped mine might be better then it was. But I've had no difficulties in deciding which panels to replace. Or how to get them off.
How's the pickup coming along. A pickup or van project sounds like a fun idea.

Hahaha, as if your restoring this! You legend!
Works looking really good so far, coming together pretty quickly.

The sense of achievement when this is finished and you can show people before and after photos is going to be awesome.

Good evening folks, weekend update. Can't say the weather was very condusive to working outside or even in the workshop. But once I got layered up & moving the teeth stopped chattering. I got the seat belt brackets welded onto the floor. Then got the floor lined up in the car. It was a good fit. Just needed a bit of work to get it in the shell & get the last bits lined up. I've only screwed it to the heel board in a few strategic places as I want to focus on putting some welds on when I had a bit more time. I've welded the inner sill to the drivers door frame & screwed it to the passenger door frame as that will get replaced later. I'm happy with how it lined up generally. Doesn't look like the shell has twisted so far based on the fit. Just a couple of pics of the new floor in.

It seems ordering panels would be easy in this project... just phone up BMH and have them send an unwelded mini shell, without the panels you are reusing! lol
