It would be hilarious to see the before and after at the same angle.

You've got to try and take a picture of the Mini alongside the picture from Post Number 3 of this thread. Even could you do it in the same place?

Yes, could be fun. I can park in the same place or even do a little photo shop side by side.

Mid week update. Have taken the dashboard out again. Hopefully for the last time. Just finishing any wiring that is required behind it. I found indicator flasher unit connections. Checked wiring supply for heater blower. Found a lose connection that was stopping me having two speed wipers. The car originally only had single speed (at least they park). But as the wiper switch needed replacing I went for a two speed one. The original wiper motor got pinched by me a long time ago. So I got a late second hand replacement at an auto jumble. All I did was run another wire from the back of the switch to spare connection on the motor & voila! Two speeds! With park. I need to get the fresh air vents connected. Been a bit tricky getting some ducting flexible enough. I should have put the vents slightly lower in the dash. But I don't fancy making another dash front if I can help it. I also need to angle the gauge pod up slightly. So as I have some spare gauge frames then I might see if I can modify one of those to get the angle I want. All will hopefully become clear later. I'm also starting to eye up the rest of the body panels. Boot, bonnet & doors. They still need prepping & paint.

Certainly can be, but a mini is as simple as it gets really. So hopefully this shouldn't be too much of a challenge.

Quick weekend update. Not much of excitement happening at the moment compared to the test drive. It's back to the list of little jobs that need to be done to move on. Just one thing for anybody who is interested. The fuel pump was still leaking slightly. It was removed & the fittings tightened as much as I dare with brass threads in a vice. Seems to have done the trick. Anyone who has been reading this thread recently will know the first set of rubber pump mountings failed. It seems the leaking petrol destroys the rubber bonding as the second set failed as well. I have now used some M6 rubber exhaust mounts from ebay. They are slightly taller but seem stronger. Also this weekend I routed some wiring for the rev counter. Then looked at the lower engine steadies. My mini of old would occasionally pull the exhaust off just after the LCB due to the engine moving on hard acceleration. So I'm securing this engine in all directions. I've fitted the passenger side & just need to drill a hole for the drivers side dog bone. Plenty of odd jobs left, but coming together slowly.

As always its the little tidying up jobs that seem to take the longest! Chin up, nearly there ;o)
I'm trying not to shy away from them as well. As they come back to haunt you at MOT time. Ooooh I have indicators now as well.

Got some good time in on the mini this weekend, but didn't seem to get that far. Must be due for a leap forward next weekend. Completed fitting the lower engine steadies. Spent some time sorting out some paint in various places. Also fitted the new throttle linkage. Same make as before Mangoletsi. The old one had some wear on the main spindle. This one seemed to work & give full throttle with standard out of the box settings. So that was handy. But when I fired it up to test the engine coughed & blew an o-ring out of the carb joint..! Must've been all my fiddling with the carb that left too much fuel in the inlet. But should be a quick fix. Might need some new o-rings if in anyway damaged. Other than that linkage worked well. Could do with a little more spring tension. Will have to see if there is any adjustment there.
