Well it is a 1970's car, flares were all the rage then..! 40 years old this year. Also the arches do fit the 13" wheels well. I really like them, even more now it's out in the daylight.Strewth, it's wearing flares! ;)

Thanks, Minimuk. The first drive was a little strange after all this time. It was towed/pushed in two & half years ago. But now back out under its' own steam. I haven't driven it for about 25 years.nice one, looks fantastic, I remember the day you started on him, hat of to you.

Take it to these guys for a proper tune up..they got my 1100 A-series up from 44 bhp to 70 bhp on twin SU's..They only deal with older cars..Well post first drive review was positive. No major issues when driving. I was going to take it very steady, but couldn't help opening it up a bit. Drivers rear suspension is low, easily adjusted. Seemed a bit bouncy in places. Possibly that rear wheel not helping & need to check tyre pressures. Engine was a bit flat but need to set up the ignition timing better. Obviously a bit breezy in the car without glass. Almost blew my hat off! I was very happy with the KAD quickshift. I was concerned it was going to make the shifting a bit stiff, but it works a treat. Even found reverse first time. For originality I installed the original seats just for this drive. Oil pressure remained good. Nothing fell off (that I noticed). The throttle was sticking a bit. But I noticed the carb linkage is very worn earlier in the week. A new one is on the way. Strangely it wasn't that noisy with the straight cut box. Lots of induction noise though.. . So back to the workshop to crack on bolting everything else together now. And before anybody asks it was driven on a short stretch of private road.

But first thoughts are these chaps...http://www.slarkraceengineering.co.uk/
...More mini specific. Can get the suspension setup too. But might be wise to borrow the trailer for that as well.

Thanks, not long now it's mobile. It did take alot longer than I was hoping. But I can identify some of the sticking points...And make sure I don't do that part again...!Logged into the mini forum for the first time in ages at college today. Noticed the update for this. Started looking through and my mate next to me looks over. Showed him the full thread (rather than doing work...has to be done) and like I am and most people. He was baffled at the before and after. This is top work and is absolutely fantastic and proof what you can do with a lot of time and effort. Well done! Keep it up im looking forward to seeing this finished!
