Bank holiday weekend update. Actually got some good progress. Mounted the oil cooler using the fabricated bracket. Just needs a basic top mount now. Might combine something with the horn bracket. I started rounding up all the loose electrics. So fitted the interior light & door switches. Then connected the battery, no fires, so must've been fairly well connected up. I had to change some wiring around on the interior light as that was blowing a fuse. Also the headlamp switch connections needed rearranging. Wipers work & park. I was hoping to have a 2 speed setup. But that doesn't seem to work yet. Will investigate switch further. I now have another shopping list of bits to finish the oil cooler & electrics.

Thanks, I haven't used a thermostat on this cooler. Never used one before but it might be a consideration for this later.

Thanks Chris, I know it is a completely different beastie now. I started with a plan of removing/replacing the rustiest panels only. Then bolting a few go-faster bits on. But the plan just.......developed.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to driving it soon as well. The engine has been proven in another vehicle but it had bigger wheels, & with a tall diff made interesting driving. I'm hoping the 13" tyres will make it about right for ratios.

Weekend update. Got some of the parts from my shopping list. Connected the oil cooler. Setup the relay for the fuel pump basically. Connected the fuel lines & the last heater hose. Setup the Lumenition ignition basically. Put some fuel in. Filled with coolant. Charged the battery. So good news the engine started. Had a few teething troubles with the ignition to get a spark. Also had to kick start the facet fuel pump with some priming & prodding. But it fired up straight away once all that was sorted. Good oil pressure. Cured the manifold paint. No leaks & even ticked over well. Tried forward & backward to check the clutch. All good. Hopefully aim to get a test drive next weekend. Hoping to post a video of engine running as soon as I work out how.
