Hi, very nice build.
Can I ask about those white bulkhead grommets which the brake lines are running through? How do they work and where did u get them from?
Many thanks
Kevin
Hello Kevin, they are electrical glands. They are supposed to be for electrical cable to rub through for protection & to stop water getting in. I got the idea from another rebuild on this thread. They close down a rubber grommet around the pipe as you tighten them. Makes a tidy transition through the bulkhead & hopefully protects the pipe from chaffing. You can get them from B&Q, screwfix & ebay. I will be using some larger ones for the heater pipes.
I love it when people find new & neater ways of doing things without compromising the original idea.
Brill thread altogether.

<Glad my thread has helped others. I'll admit white was the original colour & I couldn't be bothered to change the logbook. But in retrospect it do like white for it's clean look.I've never said anything before on your build but I can't hold it in any longer lol this is amazing to go from what you had to this is just jaw dropping it is your thread that made me go for the white paint so thanks

Thanks, I can't take all the credit for this idea, but like you say there are a number of features on a mini that could be improved slightly just by using components that are easily accessible.

Thanks, I hope it helps motivate anyone to save a mini rather than scrap them. They are getting less by the day. This one was mainly just a desire to have a solid shell without the BMH new shell cost. This is proof there is never a reason to scarp a mini! This is amazing! Just showed my mate itand hes really shocked someone can do that, lookingforward to seeing it done, looks brilliant well done!

As for carbon wrapping, use water with abit of washing up liquid on the item being wrapped, preferably out of a spray bottle, mist it 1st and a filler spreader helps to smooth any air bubbles, the water/washing up liquid helps the wrap slide without sticking until the water evaporates! use a heat gun to soften it a little as you wrap, and keep it tight, less wrinkles, better finish!
