It's looking brilliant! I'd love to be bolting all those shiny bits back together to such a great looking shell!

I like the attention to detail, I too used rivnuts for the arches on Yoda during a recent rear end crash repair, saves the rusty screw holes ! so did it all round to be sure.

I will be using your thread to inspire my son to rebuild his original car ( Tango GT ) and then put it away in storage. I wish i still had my first car, A 1961 cooper s! but in those days, scrapping a mini was not so frowned upon.

Thanks, I thought the rivnuts would be handy where I wouldn't be able to attach plain nuts. But like you say I have started using them elsewhere for trim.
I scrapped a mini a few years ago & regret doing that now based on their value. But it seemed the right decision at the time.

I was great to see it out in the fresh air on four wheels. Looks alot more like a car now.

I really enjoy bolting on the shiny bits. I have to hold back & not rush things though.

Weekend update, not much done, still tidying the workshop. But found time to paint & fit the fuel tank. Went in quite well. New seals, gaskets & sender. Also fitted a flashy cap cover..! Next connect up the fuel lines & servo.

Long weekend update. Bolted in the fuel pressure regulator. Used a nice shiny alloy mounting bracket. Hopefully it can still be seen under the scuttle. Also been mocking up the dashboard. For those of you regular readers you might remember my fibreglass dashboard from ebay. It appeared to be from a mini minus shell. Approximately 3 inches too short on height. Leaves a gap just above the padded rail. But as I like the general style of it I thought I'd have a go at adapting it. I'm putting an mdf panel across the front. Hope to plan out the gauges etc. now. Took a while to get the top profile right but happy with it now.

Can't beat a good cardboard tube for gear changing. Soaks up vibration, plenty cunky grip, easily replaced from the post office. Just don't spill your coffee on it as it goes limp..!

Shiny bits time...... car's looking great.

"It was great to see it out in the fresh air on four wheels." I love this thread since your Mini started out as fresh air on four wheels. O_O
