Weekend update. Slow progress this week. Not much picture worthy. It's lots of cleaning & painting of old parts now to bolt on. My short term aim is to get it rolling. So drive shafts, front hubs, handbrake lever & gearchange. Also started fitting the handbrake cables. These are the simple jobs I normally do during the week so I can bolt stuff on at weekends. But there's lots to do so lots of painting this week. Trying to sort out some small but significant parts as well. Should have a small leap forward mid-week with the front hubs. Tried to watch some live motorsport yesterday but it was more like sailing, so came home early. Upside was I got to do some more work on the mini.

Thanks, all positive comments welcome! I'll admit looking back it was never meant to be this much of an adventure. But once you've got so far you've gotta finish. I think future projects will be a bit simpler. Thanks, again.

i put my build on the forum and got little feedback but i think its due to the face that compared to restorations like this mine looks ever so slightly boring!!

Excellent choice for lunch sir..! Rusty mini. Certainly looking forward to driving it. Have no idea how it'll run. It's a while since I've used the engine in anger. And a while since I've driven a mini with a decent bit of power. But I know mini's are fun, so yes I'm looking forward to it.

Quick mid-week update. Got alot of things finally painted after some reactions & damp getting in the finish. Built up one of the hubs & drive shafts. Looks ok, ready to bolt some more bits on. Will be fitting the shields, so they need cleaning up. But a message for those of you who follow this hoping to learn something. The lower arms are handed.....make sure the tapered hole for the knuckle joint has big side up.....playing the odds of 50/50 chance won't work...otherwise you have to take them off again like me. For the rest of you...stop laughing.
