Final Easter update. Got the last of the engine parts painted up. I cleaned out one of the pot joints & replaced the rubber boot as that was on the way out. The other was in good condition. Both fairly low mileage. Painted the clutch arm & fitted some new pins etc. Trying another water pump pulley as the one I was going to use didn't seem to line up with the other very well. Painted up a new thermostat housing. The front subframe had the brake pipes attached. Then the final part of the day was dropping the engine into the subframe. Not quite bolted up yet but in place, Decided to call it a day at that point.

Thanks. Eggs are a good commodity, if only I had the time.

Actually put a pair of wheels on the rear tonight. First time in a while it's had wheels. Not sure I'm going to use these on the final version yet. Not a great succes this evening though. I think the wheels are binding on the springs a bit. So will need to put some small spacers behind them for now. Also I purchased some engine mounts with captivated nuts. They don't seem to line up very well. Will take them off & check how thick they are. May put the old ones off the engine back on again. They look fine anyway. Hopefully get those niggles sorted tomorrow.

I'm looking at getting the engine into the body fairly soon. So focusing on things that need to be done for that. The engine previously ran a modified 3 into 1 manifold. (not LCB). These give better flow again. I couldn't use the previous manifold as it was too modified for it's previous life. But at around £200 new it isn't a cheap option. Luckily I found this used one at Castle Coombe, year before last. Looks ratty but is actually in very good condition. The heat wrap protected it slightly. Picture of how it looked before below. I've cleaned it up since. Just got to pick up some paint today & sort out some more heat wrap.

Ok, most of you will have read my posts over the last week, but obviously due to external influences they have come & gone. So I'll just let the pictures do the talking to catch up.

Next the big push, literally to get the front subframe & engine in.
I've found the motorcycle lift quite useful to move & lift things on this project. Better than one or two jacks.

And finally in. Subframe bolted up properly this evening.

You make it look so easy. I've still got £400 to save before I can get an engine swap :(

it's straight forward enough when you done it a few times. Certainly alot quicker than saving up for it. Good luck.

Not yet, needs a few things sorting first. Electrics need connecting up & fuel lines/fuel tank need to be connected up. Not a vast amount of stuff but will work through steadily now it looks (& weighs) more like a car.
