Also I've been getting ahead of myself & painting the fibreglass wheel arches. They won't be fitted for a while yet but I wanted to make sure I could get a good finish on them. I've been using an old hairdrier to try & keep the damp out of the paint. Anyone who knows my low profile haircut will understand why it's an old hairdrier.
Cleaned up the steering column last night & painted that too.

Funnily enough just adding some updates today. I've been working on another project, (please see other projects). It helped clear some space in the workshop & got another project finished.Any progress on this Jagman?
So this weekend I did alot of tidying up & got back on the mini. Not much done really but all a step in the right direction. I had painted the rear subframe some while ago & stored it away. But when looking at it again I wasn't very happy with the finish. So I did some cleaning up & painting. POR15, zinc primer & then chassis black. A couple more coats to go but looks a bit better. It'll have some waxoyl as well. Hopefully build up the rear subframe this week & install at the weekend.

Thanks minifcd, managed to contain the overspray, it's further away from the shell than it looks. The chassis black still looks good on the front subframe so hopefully the rear is well protected now.Great work Jagman. Thats the same stuff I used to paint my subframes. I hope you haven't got over spray all over that newly painted shell, as that stuff can stay in the air for a while! I'm loving this build as i'm looking to paint my current project white and hoping it turns out this good.

Thanks Hugh, good to be back on the mini. But nice to have had a little break to stand back & get some perspective. Ready to crack on now. Looking forward to catching upon your project.Yes Jagman its great to see you moving on this one again. This is one most impressive project which I've really enjoyed following. I thought you had gone mad at first!

Hoping to get the MK2 in the workshop soon. Won't start on it properly until the MK3 is finshed. But won't stop me assessing the work. It'll be a useful guide for the Mk3 completion too as they are not that far off. Hoping the MK2 will be a bit quicker/easier to complete. The shell is alot better. Certainly couldn't be worse..!Looking very good . Soon be time to start the mk2 .
