I looked at the Clubvan the other day. Great idea...something different. I like the post paint refit. Every new shiny bit makes the car look better. And seeing as when I dug this out all the shiny bits had fallen off due to gravity, hopefully a vast improvement.gonna look sweet when its done! a real test of skill, and patience! my clubvan project will be in paint in and around the same time as yours! the fit up is the part im looking forward to most! keep up the good work!

Depends on the definition of original. Is it going to look like it left the factory..no. Is it going to be a fire breathing VTEC or bike engined beasty..no. Just a fast road saloon, A-Series engine & enough body & suspension mods to get it round the corners a bit better.are u keeping it orginal?Hadn't really planned on a magazine cover. Doesn't mean I won't have a go at the bike engine route on another project though. Just not today.

Tried out the Mini Spares front wheel arch cutting template. Seemed to work quite well. Saved me having to engage brain too much. Sorry about picture quality on the next few pics. Forgot my camera several times.

Next, I was going to make a complete spit jig. But time is short. So I purchased the cheapest jig option on ebay. Had to weld it up myself.
Managed to get it basically swinging on the jig this evening. Seems ok so far. Need to clear some more space around the shell now incase it starts swinging like one of those pirate ship rides. Also need to put on some clamps & other devices to make it safer. Looking forward to getting all the welding underneath complete.

I'm impressed yours is going for paint already. Just had a scan through your latest pics. I'm very interested to see how the clubvan is gong to turn out! Hopefully I'll be looking at some paint in a few weeks maybe a month. There's going to be alot of tidying up to do & last bits of welding. I think I have ordered the last bits from minispares. I keep saying this then think of a load more little bits.I looked at the Clubvan the other day. Great idea...something different. I like the post paint refit.
