Still got the 116hp engine in there, got another 1.6 and a 1.8 in the garage for a rainy day. Therefore can not comment on the increased performance.

been about a year since i last drove it at castle combe, do miss it a little bit.

Shiiit me, I've done my whole conversion since the last time yours moved.

 

Would be interested to have a ride in yours, mines a 1.4 on bike carbs and I've driven a 1.8vvc mini. The power came on a lot quicker in mine, but the top end on the 1.8 is just insane. Don't think I fancy a vvc without an LSD.

Ive driven a vvc in a tro and it seemed ok with the PG1 and a standard diff, but in a mini weighing alot less and with small wheels might be a different story.

 

I did consider bike carbs then realised it was a bit retarded putting a more modern engine engine in, then going backwards and fitting carbs. I do like standard injection, no messing about.

 

Did fire the old girl up today, ratteld like ******* for the first 5 minutes and i was starting to get a bit worried, it cleared after a while though.

My VX one has a rattly tappet that seems to only kick off if it's been standing unstarted for more than a month or so.  Start it up, let it warm, cool if off and it's back to being quiet again.

 

Good to see you've still got the Mini though Liam. :D

Well I've got another mini to put all my k stuff into for a bargain price, a lot less than the panels and time mine needs.

What panels does it require? .. honestly looking at mine i think yours would be alot easier to restore!

I have collected the new mini now, but i am still undecided what to do with mine. i cant touch either minis untill my land rover is done anyway.

A friend made them, one did crack around the sleeve and had to be repaired. No problems since then though.

Dug the mini out and got it up on stands in the garage, considering mot and insuring it for summer.
At a glance it needs the sills tidying up / replacing, two tires and a cv gaiter.

The insurance has dropped a bit, not as much as I would like as it's a second car on limited Milage.

Do I?
