After a further investigation it would appear my clutch pedal has sliced through some cabling, causing it to short, melt and set fire to the mini half of the wiring loom. Sigh.

Turned out to be a solid cam 1.8 with a vvc inlet, got it anyway, going to put it in the metro i think.

Also i forgot to mention i have bought a new set of 10x6 mini lites in gold with decent tyres, if the gold looks gay i shall just paint them.

what did you do about the loom ? as in how did you splice the mini and rover loom together and it all still work ?

Can I ask what car your k series engine was out of ? Also how troublesome was the build or was it fairly straightforward ?
