Evening Ladies and Gentlemen.

I'm Liam, And Ive had my mini for about 3 years now. This is it below.

For the majority of the time is had a 96bhp 1293 A series. Ive always said when my A series pops its clogs ill fit a K series engine. Then after Castle Combe Mini world Action Day, the inevitable happened.
Posted Image
Waited 4 hours for recovery and stripped the engine to find this.
Posted Image
And after toying with the idea of another A series, or A series Turbo, i realized it was retarded and K series is the only way forward. so i bought a load of box section and this.
Posted Image

Working from a gallery of photos Ive collected off other peoples build threads im hoping to make a sub frame to house the K series, but also retain the minis hubs, brakes and suspension Geometry.

Cheers.

I might fit a flip front when ive the conversions finished, a nice fancy carbon fiber item.

Yeah, there is the slight problem of physically fitting a big old heavy dirty Rover V6 in the front of a mini, and ide rather avoid having half the industrial revolution hanging over my front wheels.

The car as it stands is pretty much as rough as a badgers arse, and the current steel front doesn't fit properly. its one of the jobs on the todo list.

Got a bit more done,

chopped up my subframe

then tried offering the engine up, got bored of jiggling the engine through the tiny engine bay, so i introduced it to Mr Plasma Cutter.

makes it much easier to work on, and i fancied a carbon fibre front anyway, possibly a clubbie.
Posted Image
Also ripped the rest of this out, i can see it giving me a headache to be honest.

back on the subject of K series, the engines sat where it needs to be, with the sump sticking about 25mm lower than the rear of the sub frame, and im gonna lock my self at the workshop this weekend, and i cant leave until i have the basic sub frame finished.

just found this section!

wiring is a nightmare - I've got some bits and pieces of useful stuff (like lists of what's what) found when I did my midget - if that's any good. at least I didn't have to build a subframe!
