I'm Liam, And Ive had my mini for about 3 years now. This is it below.
For the majority of the time is had a 96bhp 1293 A series. Ive always said when my A series pops its clogs ill fit a K series engine. Then after Castle Combe Mini world Action Day, the inevitable happened.
Waited 4 hours for recovery and stripped the engine to find this.
And after toying with the idea of another A series, or A series Turbo, i realized it was retarded and K series is the only way forward. so i bought a load of box section and this.
Working from a gallery of photos Ive collected off other peoples build threads im hoping to make a sub frame to house the K series, but also retain the minis hubs, brakes and suspension Geometry.
Cheers.

I might fit a flip front when ive the conversions finished, a nice fancy carbon fiber item.
nice 1 and if iwas u i would just do a few extra mods and put in a 2.5 rover kv6 for wayyyy more power lol but good luck with it =D
Yeah, there is the slight problem of physically fitting a big old heavy dirty Rover V6 in the front of a mini, and ide rather avoid having half the industrial revolution hanging over my front wheels.

lmao the kv6 was the smallest nd lightest v6 of its time nd its sill used in quite a few cars e.g. landrover freelander/mgzs/zr/rover 75 nd a few others
they also use it to way down blimps in storms
flip fronts are boring and never fit rite personal id cut my inner wings back and brace bar them why still keeping the standerd steel front

The car as it stands is pretty much as rough as a badgers arse, and the current steel front doesn't fit properly. its one of the jobs on the todo list.

chopped up my subframe
then tried offering the engine up, got bored of jiggling the engine through the tiny engine bay, so i introduced it to Mr Plasma Cutter.
makes it much easier to work on, and i fancied a carbon fibre front anyway, possibly a clubbie.
Also ripped the rest of this out, i can see it giving me a headache to be honest.

How about over the rear wheels?
Good luck with that loom I got baffled enough with the MPi one, let alone that!

you could weld up the steel front and get a front flip in steel?
Im gonna get a clubman front so i have less faffing around with oil filter housings, radiators and exhausts etc.
was this car dark green once??? how come it ended up matt black, i thought the paintwork was ok
Yeah it was green, then union jack , then green, red, primer, black and silver, then completely matte black.
as shown here
here
and here
back on the subject of K series, the engines sat where it needs to be, with the sump sticking about 25mm lower than the rear of the sub frame, and im gonna lock my self at the workshop this weekend, and i cant leave until i have the basic sub frame finished.

wiring is a nightmare - I've got some bits and pieces of useful stuff (like lists of what's what) found when I did my midget - if that's any good. at least I didn't have to build a subframe!
