Hello,

Just wondering if anyone knows how much my '73 mini clubman would have cost in 1973 and converted to todays money?

Was it a budget car like a hatchback is today?

On a side note, i see a lot of articles saying minis are crap and topgear guys saying that leyland minis are the worst car ever made etc etc, but 40 ears on, they are still going. Whats with that?

i have the original receipt for my old 1073 clubby i think it was about £700 not quite sure but how times have moveed on...

Not exactly relevant but I've got the original sales receipt for my 1990 Studio 2 and that was 5 and a half grand.

Lets say around 8000 pounds or 18000 AUD.

About the price of a typical hatchback.

This all has to be taken in context, The top gear 3 have generaly praised the mini as a whole (Even tryed to destroy lillyhammer with one) but they maintain as a constant that all BL cars where terrible, generaly due to build quality and the fact that the letrics wherent always connected

yeh take it all with a pinch of salt (especialy top gear) They might be right about BL mind. But people love the mini even with its problems, thats why they're so great imo.
