I'm sure it can be tamed a bit. The straight cut drops whine like my kids during a long car journey. The orange spring clutch is painful stuck in traffic. And although I've admittedly only done a basic CO set up on the idle mixture and ignition timing, it smells like forecourt spillage in traffic (and no, it doesn't have a fuel leak or overflow issue).

To take the edge off I would need to hoik the engine out, replace the drop gears and probably the box (22g1128, worn 2nd synchro hub), and add a decompression plate - the compression ratio is ridiculous, over 14 to 1.

Perhaps if you took it to a track day you'd fall back in love with it again!
