My wife had a dental implant last year. She is quite happy with dentists.
Took up the offer of using her implant as a demo/teaching session for other dentists (reduced the cost quite a bit), so she was sat in the chair for about 3 hours whist they, drilled into her jaw bone and racheted in a titanium post etc. all under local anethetic.
She said she found it quite interesting

Thanks Geehawk on Inplant Advice.I have asked for the training route but had no joy with my local Hospital as a G-pig.
I have had a life of Dental work sice the first Teeth and that was Gas many young children died in the chair in the 1960s.They Banned it.I have already had the Rods in many Roots to hold the Crowns. Many have worn out over years. As things have got so tight with the Goverment the work is hard to get done at a fair price.I have had so many Dental Opps. inplants are the only option at some point.I would need to spend a Fortune Private these Days.
I do understand the Fear many have of going to a Dentist so the chat does help people even here.
With the Needle your mouth will swell up only for a few hours thats normal.Close your eyes while they work. The Dentist likes that to.If you have a problem put your hand up and they stop work.

stop being a *******ing jessy! the injections don't really hurt that much. i had 4 teeth out when i was younger which meant 8 injections, one either side of each tooth.
the bit thats worrying is when they bring out the pliers to twist then rip the tooth out.
and then he sticks his knee in your ribs to yank the bugger out, and to make it worse i felt EVERYTHING!!!!!

Did they do the work while you waited or did you collect your head later above like a hair cut.
