Exposed Air Filter/intake

anyone got pictures of cars with exposed air filters or intake through the hood? would it run better? any benifit beside (i think) looking bad ass? couldn't drive it in the rain though.
similar to this, but this is a lotus engine!

I will be running a supercharger in the future. The intake would be right at the front right. I could run it just inside the hood but I was playing with the idea of mounting it so it peeps out the hood.

Maybe an 8 or 7 port as a 5 port is what all standard minis are anyway,

You could fit a down draft webber think I saw a pic of one of those poking out of a bonnet I'll try and dig it out

The original prototype mini's had the engine around the other way and it was more powerful because the engine could get more air... but be careful if the air at the front is freezing cold though....

That is an actual super charger, have no idea whats its from, or where to get one though.

I still want to buy that car, but it probly needs an engine rebuild every 2 hours.

I know theres one where the filter is just peeping out the front of the hood somewhere... I think I saw it on this forum or the turbo guys forum.
