I think I remember reading that the most efficient intercooler is a tall thin one.
By efficient I mean takes up less space but cools the most air the best.

If you double the thickness you actually only add about 30% more cooling power but taking up a lot more space!

If you haven't done so already, get over to www.turbominis.co.uk as they have everything!
I'm looking at going turbo too :P

Hi ive got a metro haynes with the turbo in it
so i connect one end the end with the tee in to the block with a oil temp sender on the end so where does the other end go the banjo end sorry if I sound stupid just this is my first turbo car.

If you go above 10psi you will need an intercooler, anything below that and you won't need one...

Better to have one IMHO even if you are staying below 10psi as it's free power and insurance to your engine.

Awsome will definitely get one thanks guys your are all to helpfull really appreciate it what size pipes do I need to the intercooler and does it matter how big the cooler is

As atested to the early demise of pistons 1, 2 & 4 in my engine last week.
