Hi ime going to fit a metro turbo engine in my 81 mini so far ive read read and read somemore and just want to check ime heading in the right direction Ime going to just pop the whole metro turbo lump in but need a few pointers
What i propose to do
Cut the bulkhead out and seam weld a bulkhead box in also cutting the corner off on the right hand side
Fit a MPI fuel tank complete with pump and run that pump
put new fuel pipes under car one to the tank and one to the fuel regulator in the engine bay 8mm pipe.
fit a kenlow electric fan and get metal fan blades
get alloy race rad
Think thats all I got to if any of this apperes to be wrong please let me know
ow ye what about the plumbing as the new engine has that sandwich plate on the top hose where does that go then
anymore input is great can never know too![]()
the engine will be a bog standard metro turbo unit no mods but only maby a dump valve
thanks guys
Anyone

Sorry guys going back to minis after 400bhp in one car and 280 in a 1970 dodgem, minis and coolers does sound like an unworthy point but the fact i had minis on and off way back when sort of stays with you and you come back to them in the end.

Corky Bell, Maximum Boost
Ok so now I have found the origin of that quote I feel I should explain "my" use of it.
I for one would never consider running a forced induction motor without either a suitable intercooler/chargecooler.
Which to me is the implied meaning of this quote. It is saying that an I/C is an essential part of the part of the recipe, not the nice bit of icing on the top

Also thanks for the offer of a spin in your skyline but I think I shall politely decline.

Do you have a METRO haynes manual. IIRC it's quite good with regards to the Turbo.

Oil feed comes out of the block where the oil pressure switch is, 1/8nptf threaded hole.
