I know this has been covered and I have had an answer but it did not help.
Right I need electrical help. Did a swap 2 yrs ago on a 1977 auto and now done/doing 1996 sprite 1275 auto to 1993 manual.
Problem is no start. On the 1977 auto there was a red/white inhibit lead on the selector these just pluged together no worries.
Well on the 1996 Sprite I cannot find this wire. Is it incorprated in the ECU? if not how do I get it sorted. Apart from that I am finished. The alarm is still functioning so its not that.
All help greatfully received.

Hi,
The inhibitor switch on the later models is on the base of the transmission, not underneath the selector lever. The wires will be hanging around there somewhere. Just join them together like you did on the older model. You don't have to worry about the ECU.

apart from the fact the auto ECU is different to the Manual one... may only be a different map, but they are definitely a different part number, and yes the inhibitor is on the front of the gearbox... it'll be the thing which got in the way of the subframe when you removed the engine.
