
Painting My Alloys Black

right so i want my alloy wheels black but dont know whether its a good idea to do myself as i dont have a clue where to start or what im doing or anything
or do i get someone to do them for me. problem with this is im not rich at the moment so dont want to be paying loads to get them done
what are peoples opinions?

a can of grey primer and a can of matte black?

my alloys arnt in the best condition tho would just painting over them cover up the marks?

sand them down (either by hand or you can get drill attachments), get all the rubbish and dust of them. Then prime and spray. I have seen quite a few people get good results from the hamerite smooth spray cans, you dont have to prime when using this but it will help the finish.

Take the old paint off with Nitromors

Then I washed off the paint, then jet washed them real close up, to strip the rest.
Lightly sanded them, then two coats of each primer.

Then several coats of Halfords gloss black, the big tins of their own brand (I have a tradecard so cheep)

Just for that added bling, I put on motorbike reflective rim tape.

I then coated them all in clear lacquer to protect them.
I left the tyres on, but they were almost scrap anyway, used them for a bit, then swapped them later.

Then I washed off the paint, then jet washed them real close up, to strip the rest.

I used a high build primer and Wilkinsons satin black (cheap ) two cans for 4 wheels
