Hi all.

Ages ago I posted about my rat in the introduction section http://www.theminifo...amp;hl=rat mini

It had been in a smash and needed a new rear end. This has now finally been completed.

Up next is a roof rack with retro cases, beer bottle tops glued around the front windscreen, and a massive spot lamp on said roofrack!

I have also drawn on it with chalk, rain washes it away though lol.

Pics so far..

Roofrack now on! Will take pictures when I'm back from work.

Is this thread in the right section by the way? It isn't a full rebuild, but I have saved the Mini after a smash and rebuilt the back end!

It certainly is different, and birds love it lol

£100? The mary quant interior and number plate are worth more than that alone

I have been told it's worth £1500, but I think the guy who told me that must have been smoking something exotic. I'm hoping it's worth a grand lol, but I know it's wishfull thinking.

To its credit it has a rebuilt 998 engine, and no rot!

Nice idea, rat look is difficult with minis but if you get this right it will be great. loving the red wellers, and roof rack sounds cool. good luck.

Cheers George ;)

Yeah i'm hoping it will be as good as all the Veedub rats when it's finished.

Another thing I might do is raise the rear and keep the front lowered so it looks like it's pouncing.

Also got a red bootlid with paint peeled off in the shape of the UK, gonna leave it out in the rain and hope for rust!

I do miss the mesh back end so another option is to cut a hole in the red bootlid and mesh it. Unsure which route to go down, or even if i should just leave the black boot on there.

Another thing i'm gonna do is trawl scrapyards for a well rusted rear bumper!
