What the BBC/Top Gear should have done was sack Ben and publically kill the old Stig off and appoint a new one....job done. Now they have spent hundreds of thousands of our TV licence money and lost anyway.

Elmo, no need to take everything so seriously either. The problem with internet forums is you can't see someone's expression or hear their tone of voice, take everything with a lot of salt. There's no excuse for intentionally finding ways around the swear filter. Please edit your above post. Say whatever you like about me, as long as it's not something that would be filtered out if you didn't play with the characters.

I agree that a lot of the time that can be an issue with the forum... But there are ways you could have easily phrased your post to make it less abrupt and more humours if that really was what you were going for. I will take your word for it if you are telling me that you were just pulling my leg?

Anyway, now that the Stig has been revealed, what do we think will happen in the next series? Will the character be killed off, or will he come back wearing a different coloured suit?? Answers on a postcard please..

I think TG might jest about it in the next series, as long as it doesn't amount to slander directed at Mr.Collins.

They'll probably say something like the white Stig was an imposter or evil twin of the real one, and then introduce a silver one...or something.

Wasn't it revealed to be Ben Collins when Richard Hammond crashed in the jet powered car a few years ago? I can't remember fully, but it was found out to be Ben Collins as his name was on the police report however his name didn't appear on any other documentation.

The driver has also featured as himself in episodes of the show, and a report in 2006 into Hammond’s near-death crash stated that Collins had briefed the host and “worked closely with Top Gear as a high-performance driver and consultant”.
