on a t post ramp you would put the rear pads at the front of the rear subframe and the front pads right on the join where the flitch meets the floorpan,

well thats how ive done it and ive never dented my floor...

a bit of wood is a good shout aswell, just incase

Ive just had some work done at a garage and the monkeys didnt even look where they were placing the jack, just slid it under the floor and lifted it up.
Big dent in the floor now
What worries me is that for the metal to be pushed up like that it must of placed alot of stress to the surrounding seams.

that happened to me but luckily they noticed and stopped so only a small dent and they did tell me and gave me a bit of a discount so wasn't too bad.

as for jacking points ive never used them always used a trolly jack but dont see why they would be that bad if theres no rust.

Well, you could also use the jacking point as an indicator of when the sills need replaced! Lift the car it's fine, Not enough strength to lift the car or it crunches into the sill and deforms then it would be wise to service the rust for safety reasons.
