Loads of people rave about the green Autodelta car, but it wasn't allowed to race as it failed scrutineering on quite a few safety issues. The mechanics were working like mad to make up a bulkhead to separate the fuel tank from the driver but they run out of time. It was a shame it didn't run as it had loads of hi-tech features but you would have thought the builders would have checked the UK racing regulations before hauling the car halfway around the world. I doubt if so many quality race Minis will be bought together in one race ever again.

Notice the angle of the drive shafts on the green Delta Mini? That has to be hard on the CV joints.
wasnt just mw who was looking at that then...i thought the delta minis engine was inclined, i can assume to counteract this problem

I know on the tube framed Minis that race here in the states the guys do tilt the front of the motor forward to rotate the drive shaft angle upwards. Sometimes that can lead to oil leaks at the valve cover on 5 port heads as oil tends to pool towards the front of the cover.

I was in that race at Silverstone. I wondered if you had any photos of our cars. We raced under the Racraft Motorsport banner in the steel body class. My car is black and came second in class and my brothers car was red and he won the class.FB_IMG_1467927939483.jpg
Wow, this is a blast from the past. I had a quick look and I didn't take any pictures of your cars, the ones posted above were the only decent shots I got that day and I was more interested in the space-frame cars as they didn't get seen often. It must have been an interesting race as the speed difference between the different classes of cars seemed huge.

There may be a meeting in 2017 as there is a new class that the Mini 7 guys are planing. Already a few cars from Malta slated to turn up for it. So who knows.
