Small update: Barney is getting his MOT on Thursday and will be delivered home on Saturday (assuming there are no more hiccups!)
Home in time for christmas

Also, here are some teaser photos Sean sent me :)
When it came to painting he wasn't happy enough with the colour so he sent it back. Then he wasn't happy enough with the replacement so he painted the car black first to make the blue as deep as possible. Classic perfectionist Shifty! Looks amazing...

Barney is back home now. As usual he is slightly misbehaving but in general he is in great condition :) Certainly looks stunning! Sean did an awesome job.
Just got to replace my seat diaphragm, headlights switch and rear quarter light catch. I'll add pictures once I've taken some!

Little update:
As usual, Barney is misbehaving. I'm having starting issues. At first the problem only appeared after driving in wet conditions. The car would be running fine, but if you stopped the engine and tried to restart it wouldn't even turn over. Leave it for a while (30+ minutes) and he'd start again fine. As a result Shifty had a look over him to see if he could track down the cause. He replaced the alternator (as it was running at a lower voltage than expected), ignition coil and crank sensor. He also added a weather shield as mine had gone missing. He then tested him in sunny and rainy conditions, even throwing a bucket of water over him and the problem seemed fixed.
Now he's been home a few weeks the problem has come back, only this time more severely. He won't start (or even turn over) even when he hasn't been driven for hours and it isn't raining. I pop the bonnet and fiddle with cables around the ignition coil etc, throw some WD40 around and after about 10 minutes of meddling he'll finally start. I whipped out my multimeter to take some measurements but unfortunately it's battery is dead and one of the probes has been cut off! New one is on the way.
Any ideas what to try? I've read as much as I can on here and I'm wondering if the alarm ECU is faulty. I'm not sure how to test that theory. I've also always had problems with wiring in this car and have a few other wiring gremlins that also need solving. Perhaps I have a dodgy wire somewhere?

Thanks man
Just a bit more info to add to the above. I drove Barney today after he'd been undercover and dry throughout the morning rain. He started first time and drove fine. The roads were almost completely dry by this point. Once I got back home (without stopping the engine on the short trip) I tried starting him again and once again got nothing. Fuel pump primes but he won't even try and turn over. You get one click under the bonnet (nearish to the ECU) when you turn the ignition but nothing more. Got hold of another multimeter, any tips on what to test?
Also, here are some pics of his new cover:

Here are some more pictures since his big restoration (before his stripes were put back on):
And one with my girlfriend
It's good to have at least one appropriately sized person in the car!
