Very kindly DannyC is posting me his spare SPI relay box to stick in as a replacement for mine to see if that solves my fuel pump problems. If it does I can buy a new one, if not I'll check every other part carefully before I start thinking about immobilisers... Cheers Danny.

Right, small update. Got new seals on the doors and windows so hopefully the water will stay outside now. I also tested the car with Danny's Fuel pump relay box and he fired up straight away so at least I know what I need to replace now! Shame I spent so much getting an auto electrician to 'fix it' for me in the summer. Dammit.

Anyway, full service has been done on the engine (new sparks, leads, cap, filters etc) and after some energetic revving the exhaust fumes now look normal again so hopefully that is sorted! Subframe bushes are going on next along with an oil and filter change. Rear brake is unstuck and new shoes are on. Getting close!

Fuel pump relay box has been changed, wing mirror is more secure to the passenger's door, subframe mounts are on and the oil and filter change have been done. Now when the snow clears we can get the car out of the country lane we live in and try another MOT... Please work this time!

Really hoping to have this done by the end of the week.

Yay :D What else is there to do now then, or is it just a case of waiting for the MOT slot?

Hopefully just a case of getting it to the MOT station. That said, this mini likes to give me nasty surprises. Even the weather is against me, it was booked for an MOT on Saturday but we couldn't get it up the lane because of the snow!

I've had two failed MOTs in the last six months and I've done everything that it failed on so I have my fingers crossed.

Argh! I'm going crazy.

A week ago my phone fell from my coat pocket as I was jogging somewhere and the screen got completely smashed. Being a Galaxy S2 it cost me £105 for a replacement screen from ebay and I'll be sticking the new one in myself to save money. However, that money was reserved for my mini's tax, leaving me with so little left in my overdraft that I can barely afford the MOT and 6 months tax, let alone the food I'll need until my next pay from my small bar job.

Also, I can't afford to catch the train home again to take the car to the MOT station (can't afford the time or money, SO busy at uni right now) and my Dad just isn't getting around to taking it for me (he's the only other one insured). This thing has been insured 6 months and I still haven't been able to drive it..! So frustrating.

I just want to drive my mini :(

The most frustrating thing is that I'm owed a tax rebate of £690 but I just can't get hold of it! I've got a small job lined up over easter that's worth about another £600 too so I'll be back up and running financially soon enough.

Also, I'll point out I was jogging to get some place quickly, not because I want to keep fit. I do boxing for fitness but I keep my phone well away from that! Perhaps my bad luck is leading up to a massive load of good fortune? Perhaps the only answer IS to do the lottery?

The only acceptable time for jogging is when you hear the chimes of an ice-cream truck!!!
