thankyou all very much, very pleased with the feature and the pictures.
my last car made the cover too, my mk2 mexico
ive lifted the car up a good bit for winter, so it wont just sit on top of snow!!
ive started to make a new dashboard, ive made it from steel for now, just so i can get the right shape.
ive fitted it for now, so i can see if it needs work on it.

got a bit more done on the dash.........
i decided to put five small clocks in, and i made a pod to mount them in, angled towards the driver ( me:-D )
its taken me ages to get it all shaped up and mounted, but its all done now. got it all skimmed up tonight.
ive put a slight angle on the two outside main clocks too, just to give it some shape, i didn't want it all to look flat.

i love making stuff, especially from stuff i have laying around.
the main part of the dash is made from an old sign i had, its like alloy but has plastic in the middle, which is a pain because i had to cut along the back to get it to bend, and the rest is steel sheet that i have left from welding.
so far its cost now't!

i must say i have just sat here reading the whole of this thread and u have done some bloddy amazing work and amazing manufacturing skills there too . especially like the exhausts that has got to be a first but everything just works well together . top marks and keep it up

i think the creativity comes from not being able too spend that much money on my car, but still wanting to do things, so having to think about what i could do with things i have laying about.
things like the exhaust, thats made from one i bought, and an old one off of a friends mini that was blowing, so i used the second tale pipe, the tubes for the exhaust on the car are from the srap bin at a local metal show ( i did ask )
the rear beam is an old 40mmx60mm fence post from work.
the dash is made from an old sign i had.
so my car really is proof that you dont have to spend alot to make a nice car.
i think if i had loads of money to spend on it, it wouldnt have been half as individual as it is.
