really exciting time, I have read through this thread again really enjoyed it and the section on fitting the half floors was really useful as I have a pair sitting the garage waiting for me to take an angle grinder to the originals. Keep up the fine work.

True. It's better than any TV series, looking forward to the next instalment.
I read through it again last week over the course of 3 nights. Such a lot of really helpful photos to help others with their projects.

While the mini has been away I have been doing some work on the garage. Its pretty big for a single garage, so I decided to put up a wall to separate it into two spaces. That would give me a 'clean' space to store the freshly painted shell, and a separate workshop area to do the messy work without the risk of damaging the new paint.
Something like this:
Then I made this video of myself building the wall :)
Repainted the walls, floor and ceiling and it now looks like this.
So clean!
All I need now is for my mini to come home!

Good idea, my garage is also quite long and often thought about how good it would be to have a small separate area for doing small painting jobs etc. I like your organised approach and taking time out to do a job such as this that'll really help in the long run.

Thanks all!
Yeah I am terrified of damaging the new paint and I still have lots of bits of metal work to do - grinding, welding, paint stripping etc. I considered some kind of curtain, but a simple wall makes a lot of sense :)

WOW! That's a nice colour!
It's funny, I'm looking at the photos thinking "I remember when he done that door" and "I remember him sorting that rear seat" lol
Looks awesome mate. Can't wait to see it being put back together :)

Thanks everyone! I'm just trying to decide where to start with putting things back on. Subframes first I think, so that it can at least stand on its wheels?
