Basically the mini has been dropping a trail of oil behind it were ever it goes, popped out to buy some fresh oil and filter (could do with being changed) ready for it to be dropped if it turned out to be the diff or gear rod seal.

Only now after jacking the mini up, cleaning off the gearbox as best I could, not only is the gear rod seal leaking but I’ve also got this one.

Which appears to be a small pinhole in the casing, my question is how cheaply can I fix it?

i imagine it could be fixed with one tiny blob of TIG welding, or brazing.

could get someone at a machining place to do it on their lunch break for a tenner probably?
