Tricky question, did you mean the boot release? (hope so)

the main release is out of metro, you could use an internal mini release but turned out quite simple, removed handle welded hole, actually use an old wheel nut welded onto the boot and fitted the pin and spring from the bonnet, using a cut off of 25mmx25mm square tube i welded this under the top lip and attached a bracket holding the bonnet release from the metro, just a case of lining things up and mounting the release handle

thanks for your comments on the bonnet, cost a whopping £14

Wheel arches from minispeed (Wheel arches - classic works wide Part No: c-stn71 ask for the ones without the lip)

that was a bargin as well they didn't charge me for them, bonus

hope that helps just ask if you have anymore questions or want any close up piccys

Cheers Colin

progress update, been a bit busy with my mates mini's but still managed to get a bit done, welded all the seems around the headlights
(that will stop the seam rusting) also got the shortie out the front and start a bit of the rubbing down, boot nearly ready for primer

Thanks Tony13, glad you like it, i've not been able to get out and work on the car much but its getting there

The only things i've managed to get done (but not taken photos) finished off switches on dash board and smoothed off/filled all the holes under the bonnet for that smoooooth look

As things stand at the minute the only panel that we think has not been modded is n/s/f inner wing

Really dig the bonnet. Does the KA interior just naturally slot in or does it take quite a lot of work?

Hi Chippy2710 thanks for your comments, the dashboard took over 40hrs work of cutting, plastic welding and poprivets, i even cut around the curved section which houses the dials and switches then sunk that back into the rest of the dash to give more clearance for the gear lever as i thought it was a bit close, after all that work i took it out and lobbed it the back of the shed

Hey you never know unless you try these things

Colin
